delicious week
of cos, i spent the whole week (except thu) helping ze kids at Sunbeam. so wont elaborate on that
the early hours of thu morning: yea got up at 3.40am to watch Man Utd vs aston villa. ended up a draw...ok...better than a loss...but at least girl's name lost!!! so yea it turned out well in the end
sat: me father's side came over for reunion dinner. and im sick of the raw fish
sun: church in the morning. and i agree 100% with Father Alex's homily about chinese new year. many people believe tt its a time of luck, fortune and watever rubbish, and they pray to watever rubbish gods to strike watever rubbish 4D. but there is no such thing as luck; only God's will. i am fortunate enough to have experienced that many times in my 18.5 years of existence so far, and im sure it will continue to happen. after all, God is the only being that will never leave you, give up on you or just cast you aside. den aft mass went to my father's side house! yea. once again, im sick of yusheng. typically, i gt asked when im enlisting, which lead to me older cousins talking about their army experiences. not tt i mind, to be clear. and den went to some distant relatives on my father's side. by "distant", it means tt i only see them once a year (during cny, duh) and if given a choice, i wouldnt be wanting to visit them in the first place. ah well. at least gt to compare qwerty-keypad smartphones with Kenny and Charmaine^^ btw, both of them are immediate family which i mentioned earlier twice. and DEN went to my mother's family to see see before heading home. decided i didnt want to go to me mother's cousin's house, so stayed at home. maybe i should migrate in the future to avoid all this visiting
mon - some of me father's friends came over. seriously, who came up with the idea of cny? anyway slacked before going Xueyi's house in the evening. met Hester at cck mrt before proceeding. yeea a lot of Unity Sec ppl there. nice. played monopoly cards before winning as much as i lost during blackjack. decided not to join the rest in watching percy jackson, so went home to kip
elaborating on an earlier point, ive never subscribed to the traditions - or should i say, SUPERSTITIONS - of chinese new year. which means ive never bothered to sweep the damn floor, hang up all those poncey red decorations or wish for luck and fortune. i don see anything wrong with wearing black during this period, and i don see what the fuss is about wearing red. to me, yusheng sucks (except for the golden crackers thingy. plus this year we had salmon, so not tt bad). as for the red packets, i cannot deny tt its always good to have money. but money isnt the most important thing in the world, and if used unwisely, it has shown time and again how easily it corrupts. maybe it's because im a born Catholic. maybe its some other reason(s). whatever, the desire to migrate to a country tt doesnt give a shit about cny is growing more appealing every year
